Bill Clinton was born William Jefferson Blythe
III on August 19, 1946, in the small town of Hope, Arkansas. He
was named after his father, William Jefferson
Blythe II, who had been killed in a car accident
just three months before his son was born

Clinton earned a bachelor's degree in international
affairs from Georgetown University in 1968,
and he subsquently attended Oxford University
on a Rhodes Scholarship(?). After earning a law degree from Yale
University in 1973, he returned to his home
state and taught law at the University of
Arkansas. In 1972, Clinton directed the Texas
campaign of Democratic presidential nominee
George S. McGovern. He managed Georgia Democratic
Governor Jimmy Carter's successful presidential
run in Arkansas in 1976.
Clinton married Hillary Rodham, a fellow law student from Yale, on Oct. 11,1975. The couple had a daughter, Chelsea,
in 1980.
